DelTech Manufacturing Inc. is pleased to announce the commencement of a major environmental project for Canfor’s Fort St John division. DelTech is building a complete thermal energy system to generate clean heat for their lumber dry kilns. Construction began in September of 2008, and the plant will be operational by April of 2009.
This project will ultimately make efficient use of wood waste and save the expense and environmental costs of natural gas fired heaters. This Thermal Oil system will improve heat distribution in dry kilns at a low BTU per square foot of heat release. Internal heat exchangers allow for kiln zone control with minimal expense, and the system is expandable to meet future energy demands. The system will also provide lower maintenance costs and reduce labour expense.
The complete turnkey project, including design and project management, will be handled by DelTech. Other members of the BID Group of Companies will also participate in their areas of expertise. Vessels and Piping will be manufactured at our Nechako Mechanical Prince George Division. General fabrication will be handled by our Nechako Mechanical Vanderhoof Division. Heavy equipment will be provided by Northwest Equipment Rentals. On-site foundation and general contracting work will be provided by Nechako Construction Limited.
